Well, so much for the weekly posts! I'll start with some excuses.
I'm not sure how to do this! Shall I post when I'm finished a piece or post part-way through, shall I post full reviews of patterns or shall I just post a picture of a bobbin? What is boring? Regardless, here are some photos.

This is a half finished dress for my niece. This is the second time of making it, I made the whole dress but followed the pattern which said to treat the fabric and lining as one, which ruins the effect when you turn it inside out, so this is version two. I have two of the cutest strawberry-shaped buttons to join the shoulders.
This little beaute is from the June wedding (no idea why I am standing like such a dork, by the way). It's Simplicity 1803, but you wouldn't know it due to the patterned fabric I used! Lesson learned. I have worn this dress a lot since the wedding, for work mainly, and for a christening today. The bodice fits super well because of the centre-front seam making adjustment easy, will be on the lookout for those in future patterns.
This was Simplicity 4070 (or K4070 as my pattern says, as it was free with a magazine), I made it for my friend's wedding in July. These are some pretty poor photos because they're nicked from the photographer's website, I went to the wedding on my own so I was behind my camera all the time! But you get the idea. I struggled a lot with getting the bodice to fit as you can probably tell with how it is pulling :( I realise now that I needed to do a proper bust adjustment to the pattern. I should work out how to do that, then I can use the adjusted princess-seam bodice repeatedly. It turned out quite well considering, and was fully lined so looks nice inside-out too. I hand-stitched the hem, it would have looked daft done on the machine, but it doesn't look so great here. I loved wearing it anyway, so who cares!! It was a wonderful day.
I should probably finish off some of the unfinished projects I have going, but next in line is this pattern I think: http://www.simplicitynewlook.com/2246/ Probably view C, without the silly sleeves. Or with silly sleeves? Not sure about fabric, colour and for what season too. I also have some Cynthia Rowley patterns given to me, but I have to do some research and see what they look like made up first as I'm not sure they'd suit me.
I got an email saying that Simplicity patterns are on sale as their new ones are out, hope to go to the fabric shop this week and see if they're doing the sale too.
I've started knitting a white baby's cardigan for my niece or nephew, whichever it is when it is born next month!
Hoping to get back into the swing of all things sewing soon,
Naomi x
P.s. as you've probably already forgotten, my little stalker, here is the link: http://littlecottonrabbits.typepad.co.uk/ mmmm peaches.
