I haven’t been making clothes lately, my spare room is too cluttered and I don’t have space to lay things out. I have been knitting though, my nephew was born at the beginning of October and I made him this:
I had to get a bit of help for the neckline, it’s a lot trickier making the pattern go up the cardigan rather than just a strip of pattern around the bottom which doesn’t need any sizing.
I also started on this pattern, using this wool with specks in it.

I just wanted something easy to do, but now I’ve ran out of wool I’ve had to start something else until I can get more!
The wool isn’t as dark as it appears to be here. It's the first time I’ve done a cable knit and used an extra needle to hold the stitches while I knit around them, it’s a bit fiddly!
I recently got a load of sewing magazines again from a relative and they come with free patterns.

I’m sure the K2146 pattern was a best seller on the Simplicity site. I like the flirty skirt of the K1913 more than the straight skirt, would need a plain fabric for it to show the panels I think.
Anyway here are a few pictures from a walk yesterday.

These little guys all came out of the water to see us, thinking we had bread probably. There was this really pretty female mallard too, I don’t know how she got this colour. Here she is next to a normal female mallard.
I started a watercolours course a few weeks ago too, we painted this picture with one paint colour, Sepia, and water.
Looks pretty good for a first try at the technique!
